RECENT PROJECTS
A brief overview of some of the projects we have recently completed for a broad range of Private, Commercial & Industrial clients.
Brad Hogg & Cheryl Bresland //
Design of proposed renovations to existing outbuilding for faesability
CS Residential WA//
Design of a 2 Storey 4x2 Home constructued from....Shipping Containers
The Idea of using Shipping containers for housing is not new. Infact across China & Asia, Shipping Container manufacturers have created divisions to develop and market shipping container 'homes' . But they are lacking. Their designs are often not compliant for use in many countries and the materials and finishes used are often low grade and of poor quality.
Perth Scorcher Brad Hogg and his Partner and Manager Cheryl Bresland approached the Podium Consnulting Group to assess an existing outbuilding at their home for possible conversion to a short term residence accomodating international exchange sutdents. The existing outbuilding was originally used as a Bird Aviary and Hair Dressing Salon and more recently an Office and Store area.
Structural inspections were required to assess the possibility of raising the ceiling level to a compliant height and also to achieve the necesarry level of thermal insulation.
Following this, a full set of drawing were produced to reflect the existing state of the structure and then a proposed drawing set showing the finalised design and the structural modfications needed to raise the ceiling height.

CS Industrues believe there is a market for this type of home if executed correctly and when using Australian compliant materials and trades. As such, CS Industries approached the Podium Consutling Group, based on our knowledge and expertise in containerised and modular structures, to develop the desgn for their new prototype product which will be constructed in Australia from Containers manufactured in China. Using local materials, local labour and an inovative Australian made bathroom pod solution this could be the future of low cost and holiday homes in Australia.
The Black Diamond Group, one of Australia's largest modular building rental companies engaged Podium Consulting Group to master-plan the design for a brand new camp to support a sand mining tenement near Cataby WA. The completed design moved away from a typical work camp layout, applying sweeping pathways and manicured landscaping, a running track to support a healthy lifestyle and segregated but functional vehicle and pedestrian flow.
In addition to this master-plan design, Black Diamond Group also wanted to offer an upgrade to theirs existing 'Build Own Operate' camp at Cataby as an alternative tender bid. This involved drawing the existing camp and designing the upgrade based around budgetary restraints. The upgrade included the addition of a Golfers Driving Range & Putting Green, Swimming Pool, Centrally located BBQ facilities and improved landscaping.
The Project would result in a 5 year rental period with a revenue expectation in excess of $20m.
The Favas Family //
Design of a Single Storey Home in Mundaring, WA
Engaged by the Favas Family to design and detail their ideal retirement home, the Podium Consulting Group produced a set of scaled drawings including a Floor Plan, Site Layout, Elevations, Sections, Electrical Layout & Internal Elevations. We were even able to 'design in' furniture items that were dear to them and had sentimental value.

Creating their own design allowed the Favas Family to take the plans for their dream retirement home to their choice of builder ensuring that they get the best price and keep as much in the bank as possible for their retirement .

Ecostruct Panel Systems //
Product Installation Manual
Offering an innovative SIPS wall panel system, manufactured from high grade products and used in Residential, Commercial and Industrial applications; Ecostruct Panel Systems approached Podium Consulting Group to design and produce an installation manual to accompany their product.
The manual required structural engineering input, the creation of architectural and structural details, and the development of an easy to follow process flow package of technical drawings and documents.
Precision Mining Camps & Services //
Overseas Quality Assurance
Having successfully secured the Package 1 component of the Samsung C&T project for Roy Hill Iron Ore, following its release back to the market after the Administration and Liquidation of the Forge Group, Precision Mining Camps & Services sought to procure a series of modular buildings and steel structures from an Asian manufacturer in an effort to ensure that the awarded construction schedule could be achieved.
Precision engaged the Podium Consulting Group to assist in this $21m Project with an initial scope to supervise the manufacture of these structures and buildings on the ground in Asia for a period of 8 weeks which was subsequently increased to 12 weeks along with an increase in scope to critique the design drawings and develop the supply contract.

The result is an accompaniment to the RTO training course undertaken by contractors and individuals wanting to install this highly energy efficient alternative building product on their projects, and an increased ability for Ecostruct Panel Systems to Franchise their product across Australia and the world.
